About: Centella asiatica, commonly known as Gotu Kola, Kodavan, Indian Pennywort and Asiatic Pennywort, is a herbaceous, perennial plant native to tropical and subtropical parts of Asia. It has a long history of use in the traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine systems. 

Uses:

Apart from wound healing, the herb is recommended for the treatment of various skin conditions. Gotu Kola is often used to treat varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency and improving cognition. According to Ayurveda, Gotu Kola is one of the best herbs to remove harmful toxins from the body and prevent many diseases, especially liver and kidney diseases and support the physical and mental health of the person while promoting longevity. It is pinned "the herb of longevity". 

Usage: Gotu kola is usually used as a supplement, brewed as tea or as an extract and can also be applied topically on certain skin conditions. In Sri Lanka it is one of the most popular leafy vegetables used in herbal porridges.
